Response time accuracy

It is important to note that ROLEG has a limited response time accuracy. The two forms of user input are mouse and keyboard. Due to technical reasons, using a button response box is not possible for ROLEG experiments. Although it will suffice for most experiments, bear in mind that the JavaScript library ROLEG uses, in combination with a mouse and keyboard input, results in limited accuracy of response time measurements. If your experiment requires more accurate response time measurements, we recommend software like Presentation or E-Prime.

Possibly, your ROLEG experiment will take place in an uncontrolled environment (e.g. at the participant’s home). Please note that this factor can also influence the accuracy of response time measurements, since you cannot know exactly what the participant is doing and how focussed the participant is on the experiment.
